Templo!!!!

Okay so you are probably all wondering why I didn´t write yesterday. well the reason why is because P-day just for this week was switched to Tuesday because WE WENT TO THE TEMPLE TODAY! I love love love love the temple... and it was sooo great to go back it felt like forever and i even got to see one of my CCM teachers since the CCM is right next to the temple... so we went to the temple and then went and ate at Wendys. but the temple session was in Spanish.. my first time! and I understood it! it probably helped that I had watched the video while I was in the CCM about five times in English so translating the movie was allot easier but i understand it! it was a really great experience and i loved being in the temple again!

This week was a little disappointing one of our investigators with a fecha hasn´t been to church in three weeks the first two she had a good reason this past Sunday she didn´t but we talked to her and was like whats going on.. ends up she has a dilemma we have to work with not her but her children's husband... but anyway so she has a really strong testimony of the gospel and she knows its true and shes just having a hard time so were going to have to help her through this dilemma. which I don't mind but i can really tell how much Satan is trying to mess with our investigators...

but im not going to focus on the bad of this week... instead! The good of this week! we got two new fechas yesturday!! so will have three baptisms in June.. we have another investigator that wants to be baptized but is going to be gone for three weeks on vacation but shes probably going to be baptized in June as well. I can really testify how when things are looking down how Heavenly Father always helps pick us up! So were excited for our new baptisms. there all really great people!

We had a huge huge rain storm ill send u guys a pic but it was soooo coold hahaha we had a member who was going with us so I gave her my umbrella and then my companion and I walked in the rain which I didn´t mind because I love water but I literally thought a swimming pool worth of water was falling from the sky. haha we went to a members house and he gave us garbage sacks so we covered our backpacks and walked around like nerds.. haha it was funny!

We were out walking one night and fire flies started lighting up everywhere!!! it was soooo pretty i've never seen so many fire flies my companion was like do you know what those are and i replied yes... and she was like really... but ur from Utah.. haha i'm like i don't live in a box.. we both laughed.. but she had gone to BYU before she went on a mission so she knows what Utah kind of like... hahaha but it was really pretty. ive also come to the conclusion that if i take the morning sky here and put it back home that I have created the perfect night and day.. the sky here in the day time is oooh soooooooo pretty!!! but there's not many stars at night... still pretty though...

Our zones goal is to have fifteen new investigators a week and thirty contacts a day... so were completely out of pass out pamphlets since we had to do thirty contacts a day... we got to the point where we were down to the law of chastity and the word of wisdom and my companion and I were like were not going to pass out the law of chastity to complete strangers.. in lessons yes, not in the street.. hahahahahahahah so we passed out the word of wisdom because we needed something to get our thirty contacts for that day... but we got sixteen new investigators! so we met our goals for last week! so i'm doing my best and working hard.. my Spanish i'm still working on talking more in Spanish but its a little hard when i have a Norte Americano.. but im making it my goal to speak more Spanish.. but multiple people especially the members that i know from day one says my Spanish inproving.. so i guess i'm doing something right in Spanish...

Anyway got to go... love u all thanks for your support and emails. until next week!!

DONT LET THE BED BUGS BITE! literally haha

So this week has had its up and downs like any normal week. It was the semana de familias where we had activity for the family's every day and it kind of threw off our stats. but will do better next week.. when we have time to contact and teach.. but anyway we had two investigators show up to Saturday activity and then one show up Sunday night to the broadcast which was good. But no one showed up to church which was disappointing because we went around to basically all our investigators and none of them were able to go.. and the ones that said they would didn´t including the one with a fecha so now we need to change her baptism date again to the seventh of June... but its alright i'm not going to get discouraged. I know that when its there time they will appreciate what were talking about when there ready.

This week had some funny moments three times my companion and I were almost late to getting home. We need to be in our house at 9 o clock exactly. but on Monday we were in a members house who's father isn´t a member and it was his b day and so we wanted to go and visit him and get to know him better so that he will trust us to teach him... so anyway by the time we left it was around 8 fifty and it was about a twenty minute walk to our house. So we were boooooking it to our house like saying hello to people as we basically sprinted past them... hahaha i have a feeling we looked really funny. but what would have taken us twenty minutes we arrived in six minutes. And both sat down in our house panting and then we ate the fatty cake we both so rightly deserved (that we got from the investigators birthday.. they gave us a container to take a piece home with us..) after running that fast we deserved it hahahaha I don´t know about you but I think that's skill hahahah. but this happened two other times this week and we both were praying to get to our house at 9pm so that we could be exactly obedient and guess what WE DID we always arrived exactly at 9 every night. Heavenly Father noticed our want to be obedient and helped us reach it...

hmmm this week we also got cell phones instead of the huge home phones we charge and carry around... so were really excited about that!!

Oh also hahaha i got a pet well sort of ill send u a pic so u can see what i mean hahaha but lets just say i was looking up at my ceiling and i was like what the heck is that.. to walk over and find a lizard on my wall. I named him buddy because my companion wouldn´t let me name it Ashtin (which is her name) hahahahaha she was like ur not naming that thing after me! haha but anyway... so it comes and goes when it pleases. we don´t really care if its in here we don´t have a window anyway so it can come back in anytime and so we just leave it be and let it roam its not harming anything.. but it was here on Monday and then disappeared and then it reappeared after a week in our bathroom... so yep..

Now onto my subject of my letter. don´t let the bed bugs bite literally.. For the last two weeks i've had these really strange bites and we could not figure out where I was getting them but i have TONS. and they are really itchy and annoying and so i was talking with some elders and one of the Elders looks at my bites he was like ´ya, you have bed bugs.. so i sprayed my bed so that my little friends could disappear... so hopefully that solved the problem... I dislike bugs.. hahaha but im getting used to them here... tehehehe
today's been really really hot but its freezing around three and i need to buy a jacket its been raining to... hmmm.

fun fact i'm the third girl to serve here in twenty years.. i thought that was kind of cool!

today is my first month in the campo and second in Guatemala and i don´t believe counting down towards the end that's kind of baggy (think of home) but my comp wrote me this letter telling me what she thinks about me and hahahhaa she knows how weird and fun i am but she finds it fun so i'm glad about that hehehehe so were going to go and get a treat...

Also a challenge for all of u. i want you guys to buy a preach my gospel and study just like part of it each day in conference they recommended it.. but i know that the preach my gospel can help family s better understand the gospel and will help us be able to teach better to our friends and family that aren´t members. And i want everyone to remember that Heavenly Father didn´t call Moses, or Nephi Or Captain Moroni or Abraham to live and serve in our day. They are amazing men but WE are the ones that Heavenly Father choose to serve today and to live in this day! So for my missionary friends those wanting to go on the mission or just anyone in general know that were here for a reason and that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us and that were ALL important to his plans. I love you all and I hope ur all well. Know that I love u and im praying for you! I love this gospel and it has become like it says in 3 Nephi 13 verse 21 i have found my treasure and it is my gospel. Also know that no matter what you go through the lord is here for us and knows how we fill. I´ve been strengthened so many times on my mission from this gospel. And i can now truly appreciate and love this gospel. I never saw the importance.. I used to not think about reading my scriptures alot because i never had the time but now that i do read my scriptures every day for an hour i feel happier and i love reading them. its like a movie in my head i can picture the story's as if i was watching television and i can really come to appreciate how amazing the people and prophets were in the scriptures and how much faith they had to accomplish alot. But its the same for all of us when we lean on the lord for strength and lean on his gospel we can do anything. Especially for callings some people wonder if there going to be able to fulfill your callings but callings is something H.F fives us to strength us and when he gives us a calling we will help us fulfill it as long as we choose to turn to him for help.

I'm also having huge music and writing withdrawals!!!! Like its kind of sad but i have a craving for music! hahahahha and im still singing normal songs but i'm slowly trying to switch over to hymns the thing that kind of sucks is it has to be approved by the church with a stamp so like EFY songs aren´t allowed or BYU choir... but i'm making it my goal to only sing approved songs so that i can feel the spirit more with them.. but its a process one step at a time hehehehe

Hmmm... I can´t really think of anything else that happened this week mainly same oh same oh. My new district is awesome and the district leader and his companion are my ward so i'm now pretty good friends with them. Yep... the people here are really nice and my zone is amazing and there funny... im not real good friends with anyone besides my awesome companion of course... but i know it will take some time heheeheheh but yep this has been my weak. Hope u all have a great week! ur in my prayers!

Love ur favorite Missionary in Guatemala!

hmmm

So this last week was rather hard but it strengthened my testimony alot!!!!! and I continue to find that i have strength to do anything when I trust in the lord! Last P day we played soccer and then went to pizza hut and then wrote.. after which i went to Walmart and bought some stuff and then at 6 pm. p day ended and we went back to work!!! Yesterday I was able to Skype home and i enjoyed seeing and talking to everyone there... I miss u all soo much!!!!! This week started off really good! Not only did i get to Skype home but today i had to go to the immigration office to sign my papers for my visa and GUESS WHO I SAW!!! MY CCM DISTRICT!!! i wanted to cry I was soo happy its only been about two weeks but it felt like it was forever! our Spanish was improved, some of them look different and we had so much to tell each other!!!! I miss them soo much! and they were all so happy to see me and we took so many pics.!!!! but i'm so grateful that heavenly father gave me that tender mercy of letting me see my district well everyone in my district expect my companion in the CCM.. she wasn´t there... but everyone else was along with a few other people I know from the other district! but yep I'm soo happy i got to go and see them!!! but after that we went and met up with my district in my area and we took a red bus to an area so we can go and eat at taco bell.. yay taco bell! it was really good but i really don´t like red bus because you have to cram in there and I had to stand in the front and the driver slammed on the breaks and I flew against the windshield and the hermana I was with hit into me as well that was during divisions Friday... but today's experience wasn´t that bad... I was in the middle of the bus and there was less people... but anyway... hmmmmmmmmm so Friday was divisions... so i got put with one of the Hermana leaders. it ended up being alot of fun!!!! but yep this was pretty much my week. I´m going to try and upload some photos.. now there from the CCM up until now!!!

ADIOS! love u all!

Welcome from sunny dreery Guatemala

So my first day in campo well field it rained hard in the afternoon the next day we woke up to basically no joke a river in the water we were heading home and weren't able to get home because the whole street was flooded so decided to go visit some investigators... i ended up having to walk in water up to my ankles so buying rain boots is on the top of my list heheheh also if i have time i'm going to upload photos but i'm not sure how much time i have so i'm going to hurry and summarize everything. this week has been fun, tiring and i´ll be honest frustrating one experience however i want to tell u is one of our investigators started crying and i had no idea what him and my companion were talking about but i don´t like seeing people sad so i started crying and i prayed in my heart that i would be able to know what to say because i have no idea what to tell him and after a few minutes i had a prompting and so i bore my testimony of the plan of salvation and told my personal experience. and after we left my companion looked at me and she as like that was amazing! and i was like what was the investigator saying and she was like he was worried that if his mom died that he would be sad and blame god and then she said you said that your mom had passed and that you were strengthened from it through the gospel and it was perfect... I learned on my mission that the holy ghost is real and heavenly father really does answer prayers. as for my Spanish for the most part I understand all there fast talking but i can´t put words fast enough to speak so im pretty quiet.. however I have made friends with the two elders in my ward and they are cool and helping me with my Spanish along with my compenera oohhhh speaking of which my companion is hermana Wilcoxen from Indiana she went to BYU Provo though.. and shes amazing and really nice and shes always taking care of me. she calls me her little hija (child). which is something they do here shes my trainer so i'm the mom and then if she trains anyone else they will be my sister.. ya i'm not quiet used to the whole thing yet but I have a feeling I will in time.

Ummm my name is extremely hard for the people here so i'm telling them to call me her mana flew hehehee and the latinos that speak english are like will call you hermana grepe which me ans flu in espanol lol I was like please don´t hahahah ps sorry this keyboard sucks and is spacing words out weird.. but anyway, so the first two days of my field work was really rainy but now its really sunny and i mean extremely hot!!!! it reminds me of bipolar Utah weather hehee but soon the rain season will really start and every day will be like a flood or so i've been told... hmmm soooo ive gotten pretty used to field work for the most part its hard sometimes and i'm exhausted but I know its worth it and to be honest I´m so happppppyyy to be here i love it here!!!!!!! the people are so nice and unfortunately me and my companion are both blond so lets just say were pretty popular with people here... it some times gets annoying but... anyway I hope you are all doing well. i would have to say that leaving my district was really hard but i'm fine now i'm to busy to really be worried or upset about anything....but yep.. I really enjoy doing contacting people i don´t know why but ju st knocking on doors and talking to people even though my Spanish isn't that good is fun!!! The people really are really open most of them are catholic and don´t want to be anything else but they will let us in none the less and listen to us and give us food which reminds me i'm getting used to some of there weird food.. like this thing called mosh and its like water sugar and like this grain stuff its not bad actually i´ll drink it but its not my favorite. The bread here is really good and oh GUESS WHAT! I really don´t like fish and in the rule book it says no fish!! hahahaa yay heheeh well I have two minutes left so real quick u guys should all mail me your favorite conference talk with your notes and then i will email u what i though t about your talk back I look forward to it!!! O.s happy b-day stets hope u had a great one!!! love u!!! and I love u all there was so much i wanted to tell u buy I ran out of time I´ll email u more next week... since i know how to now... Just send me stuff at the mission center for now until i can give u specifics.. love u all!!!
